It has been a while since Liverpool have been linked with a true blockbuster signing, but how does a move for a twice World Player of the Year sit with you Reds fans? Reports in Italy, courtesy of ItaSportPress - and picked up by the Daily Star - are suggesting that Liverpool are interested in bringing Milan'sRonaldinho to the club. The Brazilian legend, still only 30, is out of contract at the end of the season and would be available on a free transfer.

American Nate Holland emerged victorious from the opening World Cup snowboardcross event of the season in Lech am Arlberg, Austria. Victory was the 32-year-old's fourth of his career as he saw off competition from Tom Velisek of Canada and Mario Fuchs in the final. In the women's race, Canada enjoyed a one-two with Dominique Maltais edging compatriot and Olympic champion Maelle Ricker. Japan's Yuka Fujimori came in third. The event continues in Lech am Arlberg on Wednesday.
