Brits win big at Emmys


British talent dominated this year’s Emmys in New York. Simon Cowell picked up the Founders Award for his work on various TV talent shows and his charity fund-raising. Bob Hoskins won the Best Actor Award for his role in BBCdrama, The Street. The series also won a gong for Best Drama Series. Helena Bonham-Carter won Best Actress for the title role of Enid.

Portugal won its first ever Emmy for telenova “My Love” a story about the aftermath of a plane crash.

The Romanians also picked up a gong for Best Arts Programming. Ion B lived on the streets but when the world recognised his collages as art, his life changed forever.
