Google introduced a new tool, which displays through a 3D globe, the geographical origin of the searches done on the site.
Called the "Search Globe", the tool indexes the searches of the day and different languages used in a given region from different colors. The result is a mix of color beams leaving the globe.
The tool is also useful for analyzing the density of the Internet around the world. In North America and Europe, for example, the use of the web is quite common, while in Africa there are large voids digital.
Search The Globe was developed by the team using the Google Data Arts WebGL, new technology for browsers that takes the computer's ability to develop 3D graphics quickly. To run, the Globe Search requires good processing power and connection quality.
