Where is it?
Brecon Jazz Festival is held in Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales, around an hour north of Cardiff, or an hour and a half from the Severn Bridge.
How do I get there?
Car
There is limited parking available in Brecon, but there is an official Festival car park 25 minutes walk from the town (see map), with a shuttle service running to and from Brecon. A small fee will be charged for the car park and shuttle service.
Train
The nearest train stations to brecon are Llangammarch, Ebbw Vale Parkway and Merthyr Tydfil. Each are 14 miles away, meaning further transport arrangements would need to be made upon arrival.
Coach
Brecon has a coach station in the town centre. Coaches from major UK cities are infrequent, and the journey from London takes just less than six hours. Check the National Express for more details. http://www.nationalexpress.com/home.aspx
Where are the venues?
This year there are four venues – Brecon Cathedral, Brecon Market Hall, Christ College and Theatr Brycheiniog – all within touching distance of one another and central Brecon. The box office is located on the Christ College site.
Where can I stay?
Beyond local hotels and B+Bs – if you can still find a bed – there are campsites within walking distance of the festival site.
Tents, camper vans and caravans are welcome at the nearby Rugby Club. Call 01874 622514 to reserve camping.
Brecon TIC provides a bed booking service. Call 01874 622 485.
