Former Capcom global head of production Keiji Inafune
has announced the launch of two new companies today; one focused around
game development, the other centered around entertainment in general.
Intercept
is Inafune’s game development studio, which he refers to as “my new
challenge fro consumer game development.” Three key terms define the
company’s motives: Originality (cannot be copied by others), Gravity
(can pull people in), and Beyond the Age (games that cross eras).
The Shinagawa, Tokyo-based company has a capital of 10 million yen. It’s official site can be seen through here.
Comcept
is Inafune’s entertainment company. Based in Osaka and with a capital
of 10 million yen, their area of business includes everything from
consumer game planning to mobile content planning to books and music
planning to event planning. They’re very broad planners, it seems.
See Comcept’s official site through here.
Inafune organized a “user press conference” on April 4 where he discussed his plans for the future. The conference, originally scheduled for March 15, was delayed after the devastating earthquake and tsunami that shook Japan on March 11. Details on how to view the conference can be found here, though it’s likely it’ll be in Japanese.
