During February we had several new features in Gran Turismo 5, were the two major updates of the game, has reached version v1.07. After this, we had many improvements such as Remote Race Performance Points, Complete Set Exchange, among others.
The month of March has just begun, and the main portal of the world have GT5 brings several new features on the game. Here is a summary of the major changes / information / news / next update / off-game, etc..
As you may recall, Toyota introduced the world to their first FT-86 and FT-86G concepts in these GT5 videos, but the company later put the real-world project on hold -- until now. At this week’s Geneva Auto Show, Toyota has once again confirmed their intentions
to produce the rear-wheel-drive sports coupe, and, once again, they’ve
collaborated with Polyphony Digital to show off the car in the world of Gran Turismo.
There is, of course, little doubt this car will be coming to the GT series one day, but exactly when is still anyone’s guess. Thanks to jacoja06 and Patrick for the tip!

In-Race Game Saves Coming to Gran Turismo 5
Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed via Twitter early this morning that “game saves during endurance races” are currently “under development” for Gran Turismo 5. Here’s a translation of the tweet kindly provided by our own Shirakawa Akira:
I’m sorry. Game saves during endurances. They are currently under development. RT @andrepeniche: as I simply don’t have 4, 9 or even 24 hours available to stay in front of the TV to do endurance races, as much as I love GT5, unfortunately it’s not possible for me to complete them.
Since our GT5 Feedback Forum
launched, this has been the most-wanted feature in the game among
GTPlanet’s community, having received over 8,500 votes. It’s great to
see that Kazunori and his team at Polyphony Digital are responding the
request, though it is not yet clear if this will be implemented in the
next immediate game update or sometime later. Stay tuned for more, and
thanks to all who sent this in!
GT Academy Winner Lucas Ordoñez in 24 Hours of Le Mans
Winner of the first GT Academy, Lucas Ordoñez, has just been announced as a driver with Team Signatech Nissan, to compete in the 2011 International Le Mans Cup
– including the 24 Hours of Le Mans! He’ll be piloting their ORECA O3
LMP2 car at ILMC events around the world, starting with the 12 Hours of
Sebring next month.
This is an awesome step forward – not just for Lucas, GT Academy, and the Gran Turismo series,
but for sim-racers everywhere. Here’s what Darren Cox, European
Marketing Manager for Nissan Sports Cars, had to say about the
announcement:
“When we started the GT Academy in 2008, we knew we were going to discover new talent, but we did not imagine that the Academy would take the turn of a training program to serve as a springboard to the biggest race in the world. With Lucas, we have indeed proved that a player on PlayStation could translate his skills on a real car on a real operating system. His progress in just two seasons racing sports are spectacular. They reflect the reality Gran Turismo and know-how and support that Nissan was able to provide players who have gone through the Academy. Nissan has a rich history in international motorsport and we are also a very innovative company. Therefore, we return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a driver that we have discovered three years ago through a race on PlayStation, for us is quite normal, although this will probably surprise many. “
Congratulations to Lucas on this amazing accomplishment! GTPlanet
will be following your progress closely throughout the season. Thanks to
all who sent this in so quickly.
