British Basketball is looking into the possibility of hosting the European Championship finals in 2015 or 2017. Venues including London's O2 Arena, plus arenas in Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow could form part of any bid.
Holders France learn elite round opponents. Reigning Under-19 champions France must get past Slovakia, Belarus and Greece in the elite round, the last of four youth draws made at UEFA HQ today. The 28 sides that progressed from the qualifying round have been split into seven groups of four to be played in the late spring, with the winners joining hosts Romania in the finals from 20 July to 1 August. Australia's Matt Giteau will lead an all-star line-up for the Barbarians in the MasterCard Trophy match against South Africa at Twickenham on Saturday. It is Giteau's third appearance in four years for the Barbarians but his first as captain.
