Daily art news

A visitor looks at an artwork by Hungarian artist Laszlo Moholy-Nagy prior to the official opening of an exhibition, entitled Art of Light, at the Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin, Germany. The exhibition presents more than 200 works of art by Moholy-Nagy (18951946), with photographies, films, photograms, paintings, collages and grafics.



Jewelry by US artist Alexander Calder (18981976), from the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, USA, are on display during the opening of an exhibition, entitled Joyas de artista. Del modernismo a las vanguardias (Jewelries by Artist. From Modernisme to the Avant-garde), at the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) in Barcelona, Spain. The exhibition, running until 13 February 2011, features more than 300 jewellery items from several artist such as Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Josef Hoffmann, August Rodin, Hector Guimard, or Max Ernst, among others.
