In the Swiss city of Zurich found the door, older than 5000 years. Archaeologists say that the object is "fantastically well-preserved." The door was made in 3063 BC, says archaeologist Nils Blayher.According to him, scientists surprised not only by the age of discoveries, but also by detailed work of ancient masters. The
discovery was made during the archaeological work that preceded the
construction of underground parking for the Zurich Opera. The height of the old door is 153 cm, width - 88 inches. It was made of poplar, says Blayher still looks dignified and elegant. The archaeologist also noted a surprising preservation of door hinges.Scientists believe that the door was part of a wooden house on stilts. Archaeological
work led to the conclusion that the place of modern Zurich were at
least five settlements in the Neolithic period. The oldest door to Europe is planned to put on public display after it is carefully extracted from the earth, and placed in a special environment which will protect it from destruction.
