Figures from the opera world are paying tribute to Dame
Joan Sutherland, one of the great opera singers of the 20th century,
who has died aged 83.
The Australian soprano died at her Swiss home after a long illness.
Canadian art museum wins legal row. The Beaverbrook Art Gallery, in New Brunswick, Canada, is to tour many
of its finest paintings to America, following the end of a six-year
legal battle. The touring show, organized by the US company Exhibits Development
Group, will comprise 75 works. These include two of the Beaverbrook Art
Gallery’s British masterpieces.
