Google I/O will be webcast live and app for Android

The biggest event aimed at developers of Google's next. This year, demand for tickets from Google I / O was so intense that in just 59 minutes had already sold out.

To allow all Internet users watch the presentations on the latest in Android, Chrome and more, Google will broadcast live the keynote of the event.

Today and tomorrow, starting at 18h (Hours in Lithuania), between http://www.google.com/io in real time and see what happens on the main stage. The event's agenda is already available, then set to miss nothing.

Google Appears To Be Testing A Sparse, Ugly New Results Page

Whoa there tipsters, slow down. We’ve just been bombarded with tips coming our way that Google has rolled out a new-look search results page. Scanning Twitter, it looks like there are in fact a lot of people seeing this. And boy is it ugly.

I mean, it’s great that Google appears to be trying to clean up the look of the results page, which has gotten pretty cluttered over the years as they add more and more types of information and snippets. But the new design is too sparse. And the colors are too soft. It looks like Bing on a bad day.

The weirdest thing about the test is that it actually gives you much less information on the screen. This will require users to do more scrolling and paging through results to find what they’re looking for.

You’ll also notice that main result links are no longer underlined. And each result is separated by dotted lines (though there appears to be a version without the lines too).

Undoubtedly, this is just a bucket test (which Google likes to do quite often), as not all users are seeing this. But this is clearly a big test judging from the number of tips we’re getting and the tweets.

We knew Google was really interested in white space — just not this much.

Sony PlayStation Network may not be back online before May 31

Sony's hacking crisis deepens as the company again delays the return of the PlayStation Network and Qriosity services - which they had said would be back online within a few days, but now might not come back before May 31.

Last week, Sony were strongly suggesting that services could be restored within a week - they said in a statement that they were in 'the final stages of internal testing of the new system' - but over the weekend they announced that the return of the PSN had been delayed.

And now that date looks to have slipped even further, with a Sony spokesman telling Bloomberg that they were uncertain of when the networks would be back, with May 31 the only firm date they would give for the complete restart of services.

Ronnie Wood wins Sony music radio personality award

Rock star Ronnie Wood has been named music radio personality of the year at the Sony radio awards.

But the 63-year-old Rolling Stone, who appears on Absolute Radio, was beaten to the rising star award by BBC 5 live football pundit Robbie Savage.

Radio 5 live won five other awards - including breakfast show of the year for Nicky Campbell and Shelagh Fogarty - the biggest haul of the night.

However, rival Talksport took the prize of national radio station of the year.

It is the first time the commercial station has won the award.

BBC Radio 4's Matthew Price won the news journalist of the year prize.

Belgian rider Weylandt dies in Giro crash

RAPALLO, Italy – Cycling was in a state of shock Monday after Belgian rider Wouter Weylandt died following a crash during the third stage of the Giro d’Italia.

“Despite immediate treatment there was nothing we could do,” Giro doctor Giovanni Tredici told Rai Television.

“Today, our team mate and friend Wouter Weylandt passed away after a crash on the 3rd stage of the Giro d’Italia,” Leopard-Trek manager Bryan Nygaard said in a statement. “The team is left in a state of shock and sadness and we send all our thoughts and deepest condolences to the family and friends of Wouter. “This is a difficult day for cycling and for our team, and we should all seek support and strength in the people close to us.”

Leopard-Trek rider Weylandt, 26, fell off his bike in the descent from the Passo del Bocco.
