Crysis 2 demo hits 360, PC. Download NOW!!!!

PC and 360 gamers can get their hands on the multiplayer demo for Crysis 2 from today.  PS3 edition, according to EA, is "coming soon".
Both versions of the demo feature two game modes, 'Team Instant Action' and 'Crash Site', and two maps, 'Skyline' and 'Pier 17'.  Following last month's multiplayer beta, this is the second time that 360 owners have been afforded an opportunity to strut their stuff in Crysis 2's online arena.  This new demo is the first time PC gamers have gotten the same chance.
PS3 owners find themselves out of the loop once again however and, with the game's release date fast approaching, time is running out for them to have a chance to get their hands on it prior to it hitting the shelves.
The 1.56 GB PC demo can be downloaded here.

Google 'finds' missing G-mails on tape

Google has apologised to customers who found their Gmail inboxes empty after accounts were accidentally wiped clean.

It said that the e-mails were "never lost" and that "things should be back to normal for everyone soon".

Many of the missing e-mails are backed up on tape, hence the delay in restoring them, the search giant said.

It blamed a software bug for the incident and said just 0.02% of Gmail customers were affected.

Initially it had said that less than 0.08% of its 170 million users had been affected.

"I know what some of you are thinking: how could this happen if we have multiple copies of your data, in multiple data centres?" asked Ben Treynor, Google's site reliability czar, in the firm's official Gmail blog.

"Well, in some rare instances software bugs can affect several copies of the data. That's what happened here," he added.

He said that Google backs up data on offline tapes, which are protected from software bugs.

"But restoring data from them takes longer than transferring your requests to another data centre, which is why it's taken us hours to get the e-mail back instead of milliseconds," he said.
"Thanks for bearing with us as we fix this, and sorry again for the scare," he signed of

1. Animal Kingdom
There’s enough in Animal Kingdom, David Michôd’s febrile tale of a Melbourne crime family, for a whole miniseries’ worth of sweat and apprehension. He packs a lot in – it’s a writing-directing debut with a thousand ideas and no intention of saving them for later.
